The Senate Standing Committee on Sports has requisitioned a meeting with top PCB officials on a few issues including the non-implementation of the Board constitution.
A committee member told this correspondent on Saturday that according to procedure, the meeting should take place within the next 14 days.
Senator Enver Baig said that the committee has requisitioned the meeting to grill the PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf over the delay in the implementation of the new PCB constitution.
He said that the committee members have also sought detailed information from the Board on the salary structure of top PCB employees. He said that there is a two-point agenda for the meeting that should take place in Islamabad by August 17.
The letter written to the committee chairman to seek the meeting states that, “Why the PCB has not implemented the PCB constitution since 2004, and the current status as on August 3, 2007, in spite of various assurances given to the Standing Committee by the present and former Chairmen Ad-hoc Committee of the PCB. Please submit suspended/old constitution with amendment made”.
