India have announced they will name their new coach on August 10 in New Delhi.
They have not had a proper coach since the resignation of Greg Chappell in the wake of their early World Cup exit in April and were inconvenienced in June when former South African coach Graham Ford snubbed them at the last minute to stay on as director of cricket for Kent.
Indian Board secretary Niranjan Shah told the Hindu: "The BCCI office bearers will meet and the modalities regarding the process for selecting the new coach will be worked out.
"Right now we have Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh as the bowling and fielding coaches and they are doing a good job."
A panel comprising former India skippers Ravi Shastri Sunil Gavaskar, S Venkatraghavan and a select BCCI committee led by board president Sharad Pawar would screen the candidates.
"We are in no great hurry and will look for the best possible candidate. I am not in favour of advertising for the post but we will reach a consensus in which the views of the other office-bearers will also count."
